Name: Robert "Handsome Bob" Cooper Canon: RocknRolla Canon Point: End of the movie Age: 26 Appearance: Link History: Wiki link Bob calls 21st century London home. A born and bred Londoner. Bob's personal world begins and ends with the notorious London gang he's a member of - the Wild Bunch. Bob's skills are predominantly used for driving (both casual and getaway) as he knows his way around a car and the streets of London, and is additional bulk when things turn aggressive. After a property deal goes wrong for two of his gang, they find themselves in the precarious position of owing money to Lenny (a London property kingpin with a London councillor bribed). At first they exclude Bob (presumably as he is currently awaiting his day in court with a potential 5-year sentence if he's found guilty) from a job which will earn them enough cash to pay Lenny off. Bob talks about the fact that the reason he's on trial is because there's a ‘grass' informing the police of criminal activities in London. When Archy (Lenny's right-hand man) comes to collect the money, Bob is keeping out of trouble by playing cards with some of the gang. On Bob's last night before his day in court - and potentially going to prison for 5-years - his best mate One Two takes him out to cheer him up. In the car on the way to their destination, Bob is visibly concerned, nervous and down-hearted at the prospect and his usual bright and cheeky demeanour is more subdued. One Two has lined up what he sees as a fitting last night for his best mate - drugs, drinks and prostitutes. Bob, visibly struggling with the choice of telling the truth about what he wants for his last night or to face going to prison without saying anything, tells One Two he “wouldn't understand” he eventually fesses up (with some quiet words of encouragement) that rather than strippers, he wants One Two. One Two slams the brakes on and gets out of the car, and after some very public verbal abuse from his best friend, including homophobic slurs, Bob attempts to remind One Two that he warned him he wouldn't understand and in this moment can't help but be visibly disappointed at the outcome. After a diatribe from One Two about how he's known all of Bob's girlfriends, that he's a ‘ladykiller', that he's ‘Handsome Bob', Bob finally snaps back and comes to the conclusion that he should have kept his mouth shut and, with head in hands, realises that he's really messed up by being honest about who he really is. Crying and apologising repeatedly, Bob takes One Two's words on board and realises he shouldn't have said anything. Eventually One Two apologies and Bob confesses he doesn't know if he'll be able to handle five years in prison, and in response, One Two finally feels sorry enough for Bob that he relents and asks what exactly it is that Bob wants to do to him. The next day, the prosecution lose the paperwork for Bob's case and the trial is quashed, meaning no prison time for Bob. He's elated and excited about the fact that he won't be incarcerated and surprises One Two in the gang's clubhouse by sneaking up behind him. He looks confused by One Two's clearly unhappy reaction promoting the idea that something happened between them the night before. That night, at a party the gang attends to supply drugs, Bob is already enjoying himself when One Two sees him and makes sure Bob understands that what happened between them has to stay a secret. Bob looks amused more than anything, clearly still happy he's not in prison. Later, Bob acts offended when Mumbles asks him to chat up a gay lawyer to get information about the informer who was the likely source of information that resulted in Bob's court date. Agreeing, wanting to know who the informer is, he flirts with the lawyer, asking him for the informer's depositions so that the gang can identify him. He puts his number into the lawyer's phone and promises to go for a drink with him as long as he gets the paperwork. Mumbles and One Two pull another job (stealing another 2 briefcases of money from the same Russian billionaire) without Bob which goes south quickly. Bob arrives midway through, saving One Two from being strangled by the armed guards that were transporting the briefcase and pulls out a gun when the gang are confronted by some local builders. Having brought a car, he acts as getaway driver and the gang make off with the money again. With Bob driving and the gang thinking they've got away with it, one of the armed guards lands on the roof of the car which Bob then crashes into another car. When they realise the armed guard is more than capable of killing all of them, they abandon the car with Bob making off with one of the briefcases of money as they all run in separate directions. He runs into a couple of policemen who realise he's up to something and is then chased over a fence and through back alleys. Eventually Bob meets back up with Mumbles who has stolen a moped and they make off with the money. Bob eventually gets a call from the gay lawyer to follow up on when they can have that drink. He asks where the documents that he needs are and the lawyer promises to leave them at the reception of his office under Bob's name. He and Mumbles pick up the documents and try to work out who the informer is based on the name in the paperwork. After a quick call to One Two, they realise the name is a pseudonym and agree to meet One Two at his flat so they can try to work it out together. After Bob arrives, One Two has been taken captive by Lenny's right-hand man Archy and him and Mumbles are similarly subdued and taken too. They find themselves at an abandoned warehouse, Lenny having discovered that they are responsible for stealing money from the Russian billionaire that was intended for him and wanting them to suffer for it. With the documents still safely stashed inside his jacket but his hands tied, Bob shouts out to get Archy's attention to tell him they have the identity of the informer. It's this that ultimately leads to them all discovering that Lenny is the informer, and the gang are all set free and escape. Personality: Outwardly, Bob is a charming, well-mannered and good-tempered man with loyalty to his friends and taking care of his family ranking highly on his list of importance. More often than not, his laidback, pleasant attitude is enough to throw most people off the scent of the deeper issues settled deep beneath the surface. He has a cheeky sense of humour, something which he uses more often than not to cement his social position and show his affection to friends and other members of the gang. It helps position him as the 'younger brother' figure within the Wild Bunch, something also dictated by his age. His sense of humour sometimes comes with a healthy dose of innuendo, and can be called into play when he's flirting harmlessly, even with his friends. Bob is also a compassionate, caring individual, and not one to run away from things he considers his responsibility. He's not afraid to stand up and be counted when he's needed, and we see this trait in him in how he looks after his friends and his best friend's mother when he's incarcerated. He is extremely protective of his deepest secret: his sexuality. He is able to assume a mask which allows him to pretend and act like he is a heterosexual man, like the rest of his friends. Unfortunately, the masks slips sometimes when he's around One Two, and everyone else in the gang is already aware of the truth and accept him though it's never discussed openly. He has a reputation for being a 'lady-killer', one that he's achieved by overcompensating for his true sexual orientation. As he is being taken from the end of the film, where it becomes more clear that his friends both know and accept him, Bob will be exploring this newfound freedom to lean into his sexuality openly. It takes time and patience to break through to the inner layers of Bob's personality, and the darker, more complex parts of his head. The self-defence mechanisms he has in place allow him to slide on an affable, personable, friendly demeanour. It's something he knows promotes the idea that he's nothing but a pretty face, something he actively encourages around people he doesn't know well. However, it doesn't take much conversation about subjects slightly more serious in tone to realise that he has intelligence behind those looks, something that becomes clear when he's flirting to get information out of unsuspecting gay lawyers, in particular. The area and socio-economic circumstances he was born into (and grew up in) should have hardened him, but there's something more resilient in the softer side of him that proves too strong for tough ganglife to eclipse. Love and loyalty mean more to Bob than money and reputation. He hides that sensitive soul well unless particularly moved by something that even his laidback attitude can't mask. That laidback attitude is in place most of the time, patient unless he's continually poked about something he doesn't want to talk about repeatedly. Even then he's most likely to only gently reprimand his friends. What makes him really angry (and far more likely to lose his temper) is if anyone tries to interfere with, hurt, or con his family, friends or the gang. He has been known to be physically violent in the past to protect his family and friends, something that he would usually try to avoid but can't if he loses grip on his anger. It's something which he is willing to mute his own inner code of conduct for to make sure they're safe and looked after making him morally grey at times. He also shows bravery and nerves of steel when facing up to the Russian Mafia heavies, rescuing One Two and Mumbles from a sticky situation in the process despite being purposely kept out of the loop on the job by One Two. He doesn't spend a lot of his time being overtly sentimental about his friendships, especially the relationship he shares with One Two, even if he feels sentimental inside. Similarly, he's not one to wallow in self-pity all too often, especially when he knows that even just spending time with his family and friends makes him happy. He's naturally tactile, choosing to insert himself into other people's space rather than hang out on the fringes. He can sometimes be ignorant of the need for an extended amount of personal time and space for reflection time. This is a habit directly related to how close he wants to keep his friends and family, just in case they leave him. If he likes you he won't want to let you go in case you don't come back. This speaks of abandonment issues and the need to constantly latch on to a person or persons which can sometimes come across as clingy. He has a desperate need for love, inclusion and acceptance, something which drove him to keep his sexuality a secret from his closest friends to avoid being rejected by them. He isn't loud or brash by nature, instead preferring to be chill and constant in the Wild Bunch and his friends' and family's lives. He is a follower, not a leader. He understands hierarchy and a gang mentality when it comes to showing respect to the right people (where it's due). Bob is happy to follow because he himself doesn't think that he has the ability to lead and this stems back to the idea that he's just a sideplayer in a bit part to somebody else's story. His self-confidence in his own abilities is found lacking and despite having the intelligence to be more than a gangster, rather than go down the more traditional route of employment, a life of crime is the only thing he thinks he's good for. His history with the authorities isn't perfect by any means, even if he has charms that almost work on them too. He is known to the police and has a criminal record, though so far has managed to avoid jail time. This ultimately turns out to be because Lenny controls who does and doesn't get sent to prison, rather than Bob being extraordinarily good at talking his way out of tricky situations, even if he does possess a natural talent towards it. Name: Handsome Bob Door: left (previously a submissive) Canon: RocknRolla Canon Point: End of the movie Age: 26 Appearance: Link History: Wiki link + Bob-specific history in previous app's history section here CR AU (Optional): he will roughly recall he's been here before but as he wasn't in game for long the last time it will be a very vague recollection Personality: Positive Trait: Caring Bob can be a charming, well-mannered and good-tempered man with loyalty to his friends and taking care of his family ranking highly on his list of importance. More often than not, his laidback, pleasant attitude is enough to throw most people off the scent of the deeper concerns settled deep beneath the surface. He is a compassionate, caring individual, and not one to run away from things he considers his responsibility. He's not afraid to stand up and be counted when he's needed, and we see this trait in him in how he looks after his friends, and also his best friend's mother while his best friend is incarcerated, visiting her frequently when none of his other fellow gang members do. Bob also has a cheeky sense of humour, something which he uses more often than not to cement his social position and show his affection to friends and other members of the gang. It helps position him as the 'younger brother' figure within the Wild Bunch, something also dictated by his age. His sense of humour sometimes comes with a healthy dose of innuendo, and can be called into play when he's flirting harmlessly, even with his friends. Negative Trait: Clingy Bob can sometimes be ignorant of the need for an extended amount of personal time and space for reflection time. This is a habit seemingly related to how close he wants to keep his friends, just in case he loses them. We get this sense when he talks about going to prison, the idea of being locked up away from his friends clearly upsets him and he persuades his best friend to take him slow dancing to try and make him feel better about it. A literally tactile experience of not wanting to physically let go of somebody he cares about. Living a lifestyle where his friends are routinely sent to prison, the sensation of only ever being a few steps away from being separated from his nearest and dearest provokes a clinginess in him. Negative Trait: Violent A likelihood of living the criminal lifestyle that he does is his exposure to and participation in violence. Criminality is rife among his social group and peers, and so he himself partakes without much debate regarding the morality of it all. He's not a ringleader but routinely supports his friends by being getaway driver from crime scenes. What makes Bob really livid (and far more likely to lose his temper) is if anyone tries to interfere with, hurt, or con his friends or the gang. He has been known to be physically violent to protect his friends, something that he would usually try to avoid but can't if he loses grip on his anger. It's something which he is willing to ignore his otherwise laidback attitude to make sure they're safe and looked after, making him morally dark at times. We see this when he' facing up to the Russian Mafia heavies, rescuing One Two and Mumbles from a sticky situation in the process despite being purposely kept out of the loop on the job by One Two. Negative Trait: Secretive Despite coming across as a reasonably open book, Bob's got more going on beneath the surface than first meets the eye. He is extremely protective of his deepest secret: his sexuality. He is able to assume a mask which allows him to pretend and act like he is a heterosexual man, like the rest of his friends. He has a reputation for being a 'lady-killer' amongst his friends, one that he's achieved by overcompensating for his true sexual orientation, and he doesn't correct his friends otherwise. Partially we know this is because he is from a time and place where homophobia exists both overtly and otherwise. But we see in canon this secrecy only collapses when he's faced with the prospect of 5 years in prison, finally coming out to his best friend. It takes time and patience to break through to the inner layers of Bob's personality, and the darker, more complex parts of his head. The self-defence mechanisms he has in place allow him to slide on an affable, personable, joking demeanour. It's something he knows promotes the idea that he's nothing but a pretty face, something he sits with for the most part, not wanting to put his head above the parapet. We see the surprise in Bertie when he tells Bob "my, my, not just a pretty face" when they are discussing depositions, and Bob makes no move to reiterate his understanding of them, actively playing along with this 'pretty face only' idea regardless. CHARACTERIZATION
FORMATIVE EXPERIENCES:
PHILOSOPHY: Very much of the opinion "live and let live" unless you come for his mates. Then he'll fuck you up with zero hesitation. He lives and breathes the idea of friends and family are the very fabric of his world of which he is a supporting character. He looks to people for leadership rather than relying on himself to lead the way and once you have his loyalty, it's hard to lose it.
DESIRES: Building a support network that makes him feel less alone is his primary objective. Likely finding a strong personality he gets on with to fall in behind them is something he'll lean into hard because he's had the hierarchy of gang politics around him since his formative years and he still needs that to function. Without it he'd feel incredibly adrift. Equally, since he's only recently actually come out and is used to being in a place where being gay carries the potential of being ridiculed and ostracised, he'll want to explore his preferences more freely in a more accepting place.
FEARS: Linked to the above philosophy, Bob fears being alone so much that he's always looking to be around people. He struggles with the idea of having time to himself and this makes him low-level clingy at times. He's also keen to make himself useful so that people do feel like they need him. It's part of why he stayed in the closet for so long - the idea of his friends finding something about him objectionable and potentially rejecting him over it was worse than having to live a lie in regards to his sexuality.
- JOINING A GANG: Like other boys born onto a council estate in working class London, joining a gang was always going to be a 50/50 chance in Bob's life. When you live in the world of postcode wars, it helps to have mates at your back who are handy with a knife. Joining a gang gave Bob a sense of community and stability in a time where it was dangerous to be without allies. He joined the Wild Bunch likely from the connections he'd made as a teen in the gang scene and being so submersed in the gang scene in London, it certainly has stopped him from spreading his wings and moving away as he made a name for himself via his somewhat nefarious adventures.
- ONE TWO GOING TO PRISON: Bob was the only person who went to visit One Two's mum while One Two was in prison, making sure she was taken care of while her son was behind bars. This shows not only his caring nature but at how he's adrift otherwise without his nearest and dearest. It also shows how much he values family, a cornerstone of who he is at his core, and local community.
- COURT DATE: Up until he's arrested and has a court date set, Bob had somehow managed to get away with his crimes and throughout the course of his canon, we discover why that is (avoiding spoilers lol). However, we see that when he talks about the court date and potential outcomes, i.e. prison time, he's incredibly anxious about being put behind bars, unsure if he'll actually survive being in such a small space for any length of time. It's the first time we really see him fretting about something in a way that isn't immediately covered up by his cheeky sense of humour. At this point it's also fair to say that he isn't sure how he'll survive without the support network of friends that he's built up around him.
- COMING OUT: Living in the closet (as far as he thinks he has been) has been a difficult thing for Bob, not least because he's from a time where homophobia was still very much accepted in modern society. Especially as somebody who lives in the criminal underworld of 'alpha male' personalities. Even his best mate (who we find out he's in love with) has problematic ideas about homosexuality and we find out that Bob's reputation of being a 'Ladykiller' has always been a cover for the fact he's only attracted to masc-leaning folks. Eventually we learn that a bunch of his closest gang mates had already worked out he's gay and don't care about it at all, but until he comes out to One Two, he's very firmly in the closet.
- CATCHING A RAT: It's partly down to the fact that Bob seduces Stella's gay lawyer husband (a request made by Mumbles rather than his own choice) that the true identity of the police informant in their ranks - responsible for so many of them going to prison - is exposed. In the final hour, close to being killed and fed to crayfish, the information that Bob tracked down is what ultimately saves the gang's lives. He's shown to have been extremely capable in having chased down this long held mystery and is certainly not above using the promise of sex to get him closer to what he needs.
GAMEPLAY
SUITABILITY: I'm keen on Bob in this kind of setting because he truly is one of the most social and community-driven folks to have around. He's the ilk of criminal whose vibe is 'cheeky man with his heart in the right place if you forget about the fact he's also a thief and capable of serious aggression if the correct sequence of buttons are pushed'.
Once he's loyal, the likelihood of him popping off at opposing personalities/forces/events to 'his' people just gets higher and higher. He's absolutely one to throw himself into the thick of things for the sake of his loved ones, even if it's not a sensible or smart plan.
Long term I would love him to develop more of a sense of self-worth beyond just what he can do for other people. I'd like him to feel more confident about striking out independently for more than just mundane things without a need for somebody else to tell him what he should be doing/what goal he should be working towards.

MONSTER: IMAGE (generated by Adobe Firefly)
What's more stereotypically brutish than an 8ft tall pale-skinned ogre-esque monster whose entire existence is reduced down to the need to maim and fuck? Sometimes at the same time. Very on the nose for a man used to being stereotyped as nothing more than a thug. His monster form is precisely geared up to leave him little in the way of thought and a lot in the way of brawn. He's a battering ram to be pointed in a direction and let loose. Bulky and incredibly broad and muscular, if that's not concern enough he has rows of jaggedly sharp teeth lining his mouth.
In the weeks leading up to transformation, he will find himself being less present in his day to day, able to satisfy his basic needs but not particularly feeling connected to them beyond a basic level of satisfaction. In the days leading up to transformation, portions of his day are completely void of conscious thought.
The first physical symptom of his change will be the deep ache in his bones as they start to grow, the swelling of muscle making his skin feel impossibly tight and perhaps leaving him with great difficulty to actually use his joints effectively. His temper will shift into something easily breakable and, notably, this is the only time he's more difficult to control as he struggles against the transformation and wrestles his mind in an attempt to keep control of himself.
Once he's fully transformed, he will be highly suggestible to anybody able to control him, especially if the suggestions are in line with the basic needs he will naturally want to satisfy. If somebody tells him to fuck, he will. If somebody tells him to kill, he will. He's left as a weapon able to be pointed in any direction so long as the person wielding him is cunning enough to control him. This will leave him with awful things to try and reconcile once he transforms back to his human form.
